[Pickup] Stone Island Prototype Reflective Jacket

I got a size M, which is my usual Stone Island measurement. I wear a large in loads of sports brands like nike and adidas, and M in Supreme, Cav Empt and Acronym. I am an S in Arcteryx (although that varies very widely on the particular piece).

It’s incredibly oversized though. I’m not too tall (about 5’10) but it surely goes previous the rise on my pants. The front pockets give it a little bit of construction though, so it does not actually fit too wide (at least in comparison with how huge it actually is).

The quality is nice. I’ve a pair Arcteryx, Outlier and Acronym jackets and this is by far thicker than Arcteryx and Acronym jackets, however in all probability lower than Outlier’s merino Official lined zee and co stone island bomber. Nevertheless, it is usually the least breathable and I really desire Arcteryx’s pit zips.

After all, the rationale behind the price tag is the unbelievable fabric and paint. The fabric itself is already reflective, and every layer of paint (the colour and the graphic are separate layers) add much more reflectivity. As you can see from the images, it shines from the light in my room, and it’s extremely bright beneath the camera’s flash. What’s fairly cool is that even in very low gentle circumstances (lights off in my room, only gentle is from streetlights outside), it still kind of shimmers.

It’s hand painted and then the graphic is laser printed. What’s attention-grabbing is that this means that some patches of the jacket is not actually painted. The jacket’s personal coloration is gray, and then the paint is a matte gold. Because the jacket is mainly laid flat and then laser printed, there are certain components, in particular the sleeves, that don’t have the graphic. Unsure how I feel about it. The Acronym x Nemen J28-Ok also has these imperfections from dyeing, but these are much much less conspicuous, and on this jacket it almost feels lazy, reasonably than a aspect result from a really masterful craft.

Do I like it I think it is really cool from manufacturing perspective, but as far because the fit goes, it’s nowhere close to Acronym nor even Arcteryx’s levels. I originally wished this for techy fits that would nonetheless be used on biking commutes, in order that the tech would serve a purpose, however between the length and the way thick it is, I don’t assume that is a good idea. To be sincere, the jacket kind of jogs my memory of a snowboarding jacket. I do not really know the way I feel about snowboarding in a 1300 dollar jacket although.

All in all, I think it was really cool to see it with my own eyes, really feel it in my arms and put it on for a number of seconds, however I think due to the sizing, I will be returning it. Going value appears to be ~seven-hundred above retail, however I might be too paranoid promoting something so expensive on eBay or Grailed.
