NikeLab And Stone Island Collaborate On Third Nike Windrunner
For the previous two seasons, NikeLab and Stone Island have collaborated to reimagine the Nike Project Windrunner. The primary, for Vacation 2015, combined Stone Island’s Nylon Metal fabric on the physique with water and wind-resistant Mussola Gommata fabric on the chevron and hood. The second, for Fall 2016, mixed two water and wind-resistant nylons while mimicking conventional Nike Windrunner colorblocking. Each drew from Nike and Stone Island’s histories of innovating in sport and materials design.
For the third installment of the collaboration, the design groups continued to prioritize comfort, weather protection and mobility. Made from a customized, dip-dyed rip-cease nylon fabric in three saturated mineral coloration options (khaki, olive and obsidian), the jacket has water-resistant coating on the stone island hat grey outer fabric, interior wool fleece lining and a detachable, fleece-lined hood. Oversized, shearling-lined zip pockets protect valuables, in addition to a storm flap that snaps over the front zip for added wind safety. Additional new options embody a hidden coin sleeve pocket, a removable Stone Island badge and a customized-built zipper with TPU print for grip.
