Former model sues Steven Seagal, alleges sexual assault

  • April 18, 2010

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — A former model accused actor Steven Seagal of using her as his “sex toy” after she was hired to be his assistant, a lawsuit filed this week said.
The action movie star’s lawyer called the sexual harassment suit “a complete fabrication” and said the woman was fired for using illegal drugs.
Kayden Nguyen, 23, answered an online Craigslist ad for an executive assistant job at Seagal’s production company in February and was soon on his private jet taking off from Los Angeles, California, bound for New Orleans, Louisiana, the suit said.
Seagal’s A&E reality series — “Steven Seagal: Lawman” — films segments in New Orleans.
“As the jet taxied down the runway, Mr. Seagal turned to Ms. Nguyen and said ‘I’m a family man, and I live with my wife, but she wouldn’t care if you were my lover,’ ” the suit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court said.
“Ms. Nguyen decided to take a wait and see attitude,” the suit said.
After Nguyen arrived in New Orleans, “she learned that the job she was expected to perform had nothing to do with being an ‘executive assistant,’ ” it said.
Over the next five days, she was sexually assaulted three times by Seagal at a house “many miles from New Orleans in a remote rural area of Jefferson Parish,” the suit said.
Seagal also kept “two young Russian ‘attendants’ on staff who were available for his sexual needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” it said.
During Nguyen’s first night on the job, Seagal demanded a “massage,” it said.
“He then proceeded to treat Ms. Nguyen as his sex toy.”
The suit gives graphic details of Seagal’s alleged groping and fondling of Nguyen.
Seagal responded to “Nguyen’s terror with the order to ‘relax,’ ‘we won’t do anything special tonight. I’ll save that for another night,’ ” the suit said.
The suit alleged that Seagal and his co-workers with the production company ignored her repeated complaints and the assaults continued, including a “vicious sexual attack” on the second night.
She finally left the house in a taxi on Sunday, February 28, under the pretense of meeting family members, but against Seagal’s wishes, it said.
“As Ms. Nguyen ran to the cab, Mr. Seagal followed a few steps behind, shining a flashlight with a gun attached to it,” it said.
She was so much “in fear for her personal safety that she left behind everything that she owned, including her car keys, her laptop, her clothes and hundreds of dollars worth of makeup,” it said.
The lawsuit said employees of Seagal’s production company refused to return her property because she would not sign a release promising not to sue for the sexual assaults.
As support for the claims, the lawsuit said that Seagal has a “unique physiological reaction to sexual arousal,” which Nguyen “can and will describe in great detail.”
Celebrity lawyer Marty Singer, who represents Seagal, said the suit was a “ridiculous and absurd claim by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for using illegal narcotics.” Her claims “are a complete fabrication without a scintilla of truth,” he said.
Her lawyer said Nguyen did not contact local law enforcement agencies “in light of the fact that he’d been down there all that week shooting the TV show riding in a cop car with them.”
His TV reality show is based on Seagal’s work as a reserve deputy chief with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff Department, a post he has held for several years.
“He is the Sheriff’s Department,” attorney William Waldo said.
“Steven has a very close relationship with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and I’m proud to have him as part of our team,” Sheriff Newell Normand said last year in a news release announcing the show. Normand called a news conference for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the allegations in the lawsuit, according to sheriff’s spokesman, Col. John Fortunato.
Nguyen was enrolled in school to be an air traffic controller when she answered the online ad, it said. Before that, she was “an aspiring professional model.”

Guess 8th time isn’t a charm

  • April 16, 2010

Larry King has filed for divorce from his 8th wife. I really could care less about Larry King but how do you even get to wife #8? Don’t you just give up on the marriage thing after maybe the 5 or 6th try? And why would any woman marry a man with that many divorces behind him? Doesn’t really indicate a willingness to work on a relationship.
Oh and King was apparently banging her younger sister. I know the guy is paid but he looks like the damn crypt keeper. How the hell does he keep getting women?

is porn a 13 billion dollar market? XBIZ needs your input here.

  • January 12, 2010

I was reading today’s Los Angeles Times article on the struggles of the porn biz, and came across the 13 billion dollar figure which apparently has been based on an educated guess all along.
Is it even possible to make an educated guess on the size of the global porn market? If you did manage to somehow obtain revenue information from key companies around the world, would the numbers be reliable/verifiable enough to support an educated guess?
I ask because XBIZ is interested in getting to the bottom of this fascinating topic.

Can you work from your phone?

  • January 7, 2010

Ok folks, we have progressed to the point where a lot of what we do can be done via phone.
After having lost about $20k in the past 2 weeks due to being out with family & Friends for Christmas and NYE instead of close to a computer to handle small fires, I think it’s high time to see what tools everyone else is using to work via mobile.
Sure, some things can be handled in iPhone’s browser. Sure. But there’s more.
What are some good ways to FTP, Ad Manage, control desktops, etc?

Tiger Woods Scandal: $12 BILLION Fallout

  • December 29, 2009

I saw this post. This reminds me of Shah Jahan building Taj Mahal memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal , another expensive waste of money.
***************************

Tiger Woods has destroyed $12 billion in stock value since his post-Thanksgiving car accident, according to a new study from two University of California, Davis economics professors. The study estimates that Gatorade, Nike and Electronic Arts have suffered the most, while Accenture “experienced no ill effects following the accident.”
Woods’ sponsors have engaged in a flurry of activity over the past month as his list of alleged mistresses continued to grow. Gatorade announced it was discontinuing its Tiger Focus beverage, although it claimed the decision was already in the works before the scandal broke. Gillette said it would “limit [Woods'] role in our marketing programs” earlier in the month, and Accenture dropped Woods as the scandal widened. Watchmaker Tag Heuer initially indicated that it would “downscale” Woods’ role in the company’s advertising, but has since prominently displayed him on its web site, along with the text “TAG HEUER stands with TIGER WOODS.”
It would be difficult to determine which development or allegation has been most damaging to Woods. Perhaps it was the first alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel, whom Woods once reportedly emailed to say “I finally found someone I connect with.” He also allegedly wrote to her about a steamy sex romp he dreamed of, involving her, Derek Jeter and Bones star David Boreanaz. It has been rumored that Uchitel is still seeing Woods, and Uchitel’s attorney has declined to comment.
If the Uchitel stories have not been the most damaging, then perhaps it was one of the two porn stars that the golfer allegedly slept with. Holly Sampson (NSFW pictures) has appeared in a series of erotic films and may have worked as an escort (NSFW). She also described having sex with Woods in a web video and said that sleeping with the golfer was a “sensual, beautiful experience.” The other porn star, Joslyn James, has was filmed gyrating in a skimpy outfit and is wanted in Washington state for not making child support payments.
Jamie Jungers is another alleged mistress who would likely be damaging to a brand as valuable as Woods. In addition to possibly working as a stripper, Jungers claims the two had “wild” and “crazy” sex and says the pair slept together the night Woods’ father died. She has appeared in multiple interviews and has already begun to pitch vodka and an auction web site. She also may have taken nude pictures of Tiger.
Sponsors likely haven’t forgotten Jaimee Grubbs, either. The alleged mistress appeared in racy pictures and has provided what she says is a voicemail from Woods, as well as two batches of erotic text messages.

VOD sites not asking for 2257 anymore

  • December 29, 2009

I know 2 very large VOD sites are not asking for 2257 docs any more, as long as you sign a contract stating you got the 2257 for the content you are selling.
So the whole secondary producer thing is dead ?

Here is my 2010 Predictions for Adult and what are yours ?

  • December 24, 2009

1. The constant drop in bandwidth prices will allow Tube sites to offer even better quality video.
All most all tube sites stream movies between 300K to 500K but the cost of BW is dropping at an alarming rate. At 10gig you can buy 1$/meg and this will become a commonplace in 2010 thanks to all the 100 gig dwdm replacing 40gig dwdm. As the prices drop more and more tube sites will be offering higher quality videos. You Tube has started 1080p now.
2. More legal Tube sites.
Considering you can buy DVD’s content rights ultra cheap (the days of 500$ per DVD is gone) i can see large Cam / Dating sites starting legal Tube sites just for the traffic.
3. Large all you can eat sites at $5 to $10/Month.
Sites such as porn.com and videobox.com are already doing this. Good value for a customer. you get all the porn you need for less then 100$ a year.
4. Death of VOD
This is a sad one for me, an industry I pioneered, worked on for the past 10 years. I dont see why any one will pay 10 cents a min to watch a movie any more. Yes, their is the 5% that needs a selection but Tubes or pay sites like porn.com can keep the other 95% happy.
5. Death of Photo Content.
People are still shooting videos because their is a need for HD content. but I dont see a need for Photos any more. You can take a model that was shot 2 years ago and put it on the site again and no one seem to notice it.

Having said that as a company my core focus for 2010 is in any thing Live and Social including the mobile space. Been working on few things most of 2009 and taking it to market in 2010.
