What age group is most likely to buy onlne porn?

  • September 26, 2011

Just paysites and cams, don’t consider most dating sites as porn. most are conning customers.
This was a topic a few of us were discussing at the Prague show. One person was convinced it was 18 to 30 year olds, I thought it was older another thought it was much older.
Understand it’s hard to tell as different sites appeal to different people, so just a general guide will do.
Of course marketing people should know exactly the age group and demographic they appeal to. Doubt if we do.
It’s just the group most likely to buy.

.XXX – So I’m curious about something…

  • September 25, 2011

Why hasn’t anyone stepped up and started the process of applying for other extensions?
The way I see it, if they approved .XXX then they’d have no grounds for denying other sTLD’s like say, .sex or .porn
IMHO, if the adult community actually got together and sponsored our own sTLD, then a LOT of the weight and pressure of the .XXX scams would disappear.
Now, obviously the larger programs would have to step up, but I see a lot of people, both large and small, publicly voicing their dislike, and even hatred, of .XXX. So why not, instead of harping on the after affects of ICANN being paid off, why not do something about it?

And just in case it is unclear our position… we are strongly opposed to .XXX and will NOT be buying a single domain under that scam of a sTLD.

Google encourages splogs

  • September 25, 2011

You can build up a genuine and informative blog, with fresh and rare content and well written posts updated each day, and then suddenly you are gone from Google and your livlihood is down the drain.
I have a network of about 200 blogs in the same niche. Obviously, the vast majority are splogs. I have one site that I really take a lot of care over, and that is building up a number of repeat visitors. In fact, I’d say it is the best site for the niche in question by a country mile. Last month it briefly got on to the front page of Google for the niche leading keyword (highly competitive) and I was getting a stack of traffic. My webhosts (lunarpages) immediately suspended my account saying that I was draining resources on the server. Took me a couple of days to switch to a new host, by which time I’d disappeared completely from Google. I submitted a request for re-inclusion through Webmaster Tools but still no luck.
Fuck that. I’m just going to work on my splogs in future and if 50 get randomly thrown out by Google, I know that I can still make money from the other 150.
BTW, if you Google ‘top adult webhosts’, a name that often pops up is Lunarpages. Don’t ever host with them. Their terms and conditions do not allow adult hosting on shared servers, although they will only kick you off without warning when you start to get a bit of traffic.

Making money with webcams???

  • September 20, 2011

Ok are there any sponsors out there that offer education resources or guidance as to what works to get their specific programs to convert? I’m just getting into the cams and would rather listen to what works that not.
Been an affiliate marketer in adult, info products and other items for 10 years. No I’m only new to cams and I’m looking for an educational resource to so I can cut the learning curve.

Shaving, Scamming, Etc…

  • September 20, 2011

I’m not naming any names but I seriously think I’m getting scammed sometimes.
So I send traffic to paysites as an affiliate like I have for years. Some sponsors I have been sending to for 10 years very reliable.
A couple of time seems that when ever I get a NEW site that really converts like it was 2000 again. I mean like 1:10 or lower (not sure if that’s raw unique or what stats exactly as some programs calculate different to make their numbers look better) and this has happened a couple of times on $1 trials with PPS and it converted really well.
Then either it goes completely cold.
Or the sponsor converts me to revshare or just closes my account and then I have to contact them to see what’s up talk to them get them to pay and then switch to revshare.
On the sites that do geo and show where the signups are coming from they are from all over the world. I also track all by campaign so I can see what sites have the best traffic.
I have never done any fraud, no spam, nothing shady. One of my sites promotes $1 trials. I have been told by one sponsor out of the blue that I’m not allowed to promote their site on a site advertising one dollar trials. Yet they offer one dollar trials.
So what’s going on here…Shaving filter kicks in? Or do I have book markers that do a hit and run on new sites I put up?
It seems to me it’s the sponsors responsibility to keep the members and mine to get them to signup without any incentives or lying which is what I do. Don’t blame me if you can keep them after all if you have not heard porn is FREE these days.
So I have run into this about 4 times in the last 3 years and on the flip side I have sponsors that convert not as well but pay me regularly and have never once questioned my traffic in over 10 years.
I’d really like to start building more sites and making more money doing this again but not if I have to deal with this crap. I’m almost afraid now when something converts well.
Anyone else go though this? If I’m doing something wrong I’d like to fix it.
Please save the B.S. answer for another thread. Not looking for humor looking for a real answer.
