CCBill $1000 chargeback on a $25 membership… anyone else?

  • December 30, 2009

So, I noticed I had a chargeback a few weeks ago… December 12 to be exact. My memberships sell for $24.88 each. The problem is, the chargeback was for $993.54. Immediately I think this guy’s charged back the last few years of memberships. Wrong. He only signed up for one month.
So… I contact CCBill. They say they will fix it. My next check is $1000 less than it should be, so I call them again. They say they are looking into it still. Got another check this week… still missing that extra $1000. Call CCBill again, and they tell me this is a known problem with several accounts. Other than that, they say they can’t help me and they upgraded it to the next level of support.
So… my question is, has anyone else had any mysterious $1000 chargebacks? And, can someone from CCBill other than a phone jockey kindly tell me what’s going on and if I can expect to be reimbursed?

Tiger Woods Scandal: $12 BILLION Fallout

  • December 29, 2009

I saw this post. This reminds me of Shah Jahan building Taj Mahal memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal , another expensive waste of money.
***************************

Tiger Woods has destroyed $12 billion in stock value since his post-Thanksgiving car accident, according to a new study from two University of California, Davis economics professors. The study estimates that Gatorade, Nike and Electronic Arts have suffered the most, while Accenture “experienced no ill effects following the accident.”
Woods’ sponsors have engaged in a flurry of activity over the past month as his list of alleged mistresses continued to grow. Gatorade announced it was discontinuing its Tiger Focus beverage, although it claimed the decision was already in the works before the scandal broke. Gillette said it would “limit [Woods'] role in our marketing programs” earlier in the month, and Accenture dropped Woods as the scandal widened. Watchmaker Tag Heuer initially indicated that it would “downscale” Woods’ role in the company’s advertising, but has since prominently displayed him on its web site, along with the text “TAG HEUER stands with TIGER WOODS.”
It would be difficult to determine which development or allegation has been most damaging to Woods. Perhaps it was the first alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel, whom Woods once reportedly emailed to say “I finally found someone I connect with.” He also allegedly wrote to her about a steamy sex romp he dreamed of, involving her, Derek Jeter and Bones star David Boreanaz. It has been rumored that Uchitel is still seeing Woods, and Uchitel’s attorney has declined to comment.
If the Uchitel stories have not been the most damaging, then perhaps it was one of the two porn stars that the golfer allegedly slept with. Holly Sampson (NSFW pictures) has appeared in a series of erotic films and may have worked as an escort (NSFW). She also described having sex with Woods in a web video and said that sleeping with the golfer was a “sensual, beautiful experience.” The other porn star, Joslyn James, has was filmed gyrating in a skimpy outfit and is wanted in Washington state for not making child support payments.
Jamie Jungers is another alleged mistress who would likely be damaging to a brand as valuable as Woods. In addition to possibly working as a stripper, Jungers claims the two had “wild” and “crazy” sex and says the pair slept together the night Woods’ father died. She has appeared in multiple interviews and has already begun to pitch vodka and an auction web site. She also may have taken nude pictures of Tiger.
Sponsors likely haven’t forgotten Jaimee Grubbs, either. The alleged mistress appeared in racy pictures and has provided what she says is a voicemail from Woods, as well as two batches of erotic text messages.

Has anyone noticed the speed in which Google is indexing blog posts?

  • December 29, 2009

I am seeing under one hour on well/medium established blogs. Ranking for the terms just as quickly.
Dupe content doesn’t seem to be a big factor in weather it gets indexed or not either.

VOD sites not asking for 2257 anymore

  • December 29, 2009

I know 2 very large VOD sites are not asking for 2257 docs any more, as long as you sign a contract stating you got the 2257 for the content you are selling.
So the whole secondary producer thing is dead ?

Passpedia.com - bitch ass niggas

passpedia.JPG

So I’m out of town for 3 days with my girls and haven’t been near a computer, and it felt good. Its 2am and I just got back to my office to pack for my holiday flight and I see that 1100 freeloading motherfuckers have logged into my members area in the past 24 hours and are just draining TERABYTES of my fucking movies. And I upload all my shit in H264 so some of the movie files are huge. I really need to get some member area protection soon, its too expensive to put out hits these days. I can actually track back to who purchased and shared the password but I’m not even gonna waste my time. I haven’t had to babysit members area for password sharers for YEARS now that I have some fresh shit up I’m about ready to climb the walls in my office at 2am because I went through a lot of shit to travel, the girls, make my movies, and come home alive to FTP it all just for some pussy ass nigga to buy a trial and post their password up on that site, which in turn shares with other password/warez sites etc… k let me quit fuming and go handle this. The real ironic part is they actually signup for my affiliate program, bought a membership under their own link, then shared it with their beloved password community. Anybody got a good 401 reccomendation I should send them to

Fraud on RevShare

  • December 25, 2009

I’m noticing that any suspicious activity seems to always be on upfront payouts instead of RevShare… anybody get scammed on revshare? I’m thinking about just dropping up-front bounties and going revshare only on our programs. Seems like our bigger affiliates choose rev anyway so maybe that is the mark of a serious business partner? Thoughts?
Any affiliates in here who are legit and would have a problem with a Sponsor who only offers revshare?

The conflicted life of a female porn writer

  • December 25, 2009

Kiinda funny article about a woman who started out hoping to be a successful fiction writer but who ended up being a porn writer.

I’m sure we can all relate.

I guess the article won an award or something, which just goes to show, it’s all about the fucking sex. Would the author have won an award if the story wasn’t about porn? I bet not.

http://www.mcsweeneys.net/links/pornwriter/column1.html

Let me be clear about something: I never set out to become a porn writer. I set out to be a writer. Ever since I was seven, I’ve wanted to write novels and children’s books and illustrate my own work. But, as it turns out, writing fiction isn’t such an easy thing to make a living at, and along the way I stumbled off the path and wound up here, amidst the plastic-wrapped, two-for-one skin magazines. I still work on my own creative endeavors, and I’ve even had a few stories published here and there, but the only lucrative gigs I’ve ever had as a writer have been for bottom-shelf wank rags.

How did this happen? Well, I followed a pretty typical trajectory after college, casting about in a general fugue of post-B.A.-in-English angst for a few years, and then settled in New York, where writers have been losing their souls for centuries. When a friend mentioned that she knew the editor-in-chief of a sleazy porno magazine who was looking for a DVD reviewer, I figured I’d give it a try. I’d spent some time working as, among other things, a go-go dancer, a nude art model, and an amateur Sex and the City expert, and hell, I’d seen my fair share of internet porn. It was something I had never felt particularly proud of watching, but I saw nothing wrong with pornography; I’d read it was as old as the cave paintings. Part of the human condition. As a practical, if not exactly radical, feminist, I did have a moment’s hesitation about becoming part of an industry notorious for its exploitation of women. But then again, as a feminist, I should be willing to support the right of women to do whatever they wanted with their lives, minds, and bodies, right? If they decided to have sex on camera, I would support their decisions, and make a buck out of reviewing their work. And, hell, I was broke. So why not?
Shortly thereafter, I found myself in a maze of dimly lit hallways called an office in flip-flops and shorts ("Doesn’t matter how you’re dressed," he’d said on the phone, "this is a porn office. Just stop by."). Within a half hour, having met a few of the tattooed and jaded individuals running the operation, I was handed a box packed with some of the filthiest magazines I had ever seen and a double-disc set of a XXX film called Something-or-Other "ASSault." Within a week I’d written my first porn review, had it approved for publication, and was hired as a freelance reviewer. I was officially "in" the skin biz.

Here is my 2010 Predictions for Adult and what are yours ?

  • December 24, 2009

1. The constant drop in bandwidth prices will allow Tube sites to offer even better quality video.
All most all tube sites stream movies between 300K to 500K but the cost of BW is dropping at an alarming rate. At 10gig you can buy 1$/meg and this will become a commonplace in 2010 thanks to all the 100 gig dwdm replacing 40gig dwdm. As the prices drop more and more tube sites will be offering higher quality videos. You Tube has started 1080p now.
2. More legal Tube sites.
Considering you can buy DVD’s content rights ultra cheap (the days of 500$ per DVD is gone) i can see large Cam / Dating sites starting legal Tube sites just for the traffic.
3. Large all you can eat sites at $5 to $10/Month.
Sites such as porn.com and videobox.com are already doing this. Good value for a customer. you get all the porn you need for less then 100$ a year.
4. Death of VOD
This is a sad one for me, an industry I pioneered, worked on for the past 10 years. I dont see why any one will pay 10 cents a min to watch a movie any more. Yes, their is the 5% that needs a selection but Tubes or pay sites like porn.com can keep the other 95% happy.
5. Death of Photo Content.
People are still shooting videos because their is a need for HD content. but I dont see a need for Photos any more. You can take a model that was shot 2 years ago and put it on the site again and no one seem to notice it.

Having said that as a company my core focus for 2010 is in any thing Live and Social including the mobile space. Been working on few things most of 2009 and taking it to market in 2010.
