Good stats system for blogs and other sites
I know there is threads that used this exact topic, but I just wanted to use a fresh one. I think that this would be good info for at least quite a few webmasters out there and better info than other stats threads that I searched though.
Anyway, I was looking for a good stats system for my wordpress blogs and I could not find any.
Wordpress plugins stats systems:
- cystats
very disorganized and confusing, but does ok, definetly not great
- google-analyticator
i think this one just made it easy to add that google analytics code to your pages, that’s all it did
- google-analytics-for-wordpress
i think this one just counted outgoing hits, not bad
- statpress-reloaded
this is supposed to be the new version of old statpress, i didn’t see much difference
- wassup
gives indebth info on visitors, not what i was looking for
- wp-statpress
just another stats script
There were I think few more stats plugins, the short stats I was not able to install even, anyway, none of them were really good enough.
The world famous google analytics:
- Yes, pretty fancy, lots of information but, what a second, where the hell is yahoo hits? I never saw mine and I saw them with other stats sytems, so my conclusion is that there is something wrong with them. Someone on netpond said that "why would they give you such great stats system for free" and I think they were right. They screw up other search engines stats and I’m gonna leave it at that.
Propably the best free hosted stats sytem:
statcounter.com - again not what I was looking for
Popular and good install script stats system:
awstats - very good system, only one problem, why the hell wouldn’t they enable an option where I could select specific time range like october 10 to october 15 for example, that’s the only thing i didn’t like, other than that, it’s a great script.
Finally after shit load of searching, I fould this one:
Free web statistics, phpMyVisites web analytics
Check it out, I think it’s gold. As far as I know, it counts visits using java script, but most people have that enabled anyways. It kind of seems like the google one and it has all the options that you can imagine.
There is my netpond contribution
