Hi ya’ll,
Not the most social person in the world but thought I’d drop one of these here introductions. Got into the adult internet world back in the mid 90’s and remember back when this here Condom was the new kid on the block going up against that Y site…
After doing free, tgp, cjs, pay, hosting etc I sold out and moved on from adult stuff to mainstream and e-commerce and hosting and got completely out of technology after the bubble burst - went back to managing and dj’ing titty bars while I worked on my masters degree.
Now I’m stuck in a mind numbing dull corporate IT consulting existence. One night I’m sitting bored and started brainstorming ways to get back into the internet side of life and while registering domains decided to check if my first domain name was available… lo and behold it was so I registered it back… being a pack rat that never deletes anything and with the help of the internet way back machine I reconstructed the site and put it back up as a ‘museum piece’ ROFL. While doing that I realized that I used to make money in this industry and it was actually enjoyable - so I dove back in full force - been spending the last month or so like any common n00b, reading the webmaster boards, researching tools, reading the webmaster boards, investigating sponsors, reading the webmaster boards….
I don’t know if I’ll make money this time, but just the enjoyment I get out of it is worth more to me than my current job.
Oh, and my one and only claim to fame (besides making a living at it) in the adult world - back when the old Sex Swap was a fledgling enterprise ran by Andy, I was a charter member (number 87 if I remember) and turns out I was the first to ever use a transparent gif with text on it as a blind banner - made me quite a bit of bank before Andy and the rest of the webmasters caught on
For a not real social person, I sure can be long winded, but I look forward to rebuilding my network of sites, business partners, and friends
oh and by the way, that ‘museum’ piece still stands - if you want to see all it took back in the mid 90’s to make some money check it out
